Useful Information / Tourist Police |
|
| |
It is a group of professional young agents, who have been specially trained by the City Direction of Police to assist all visitors to Merida’s Historic Center. Their duties include providing information, helping in case of emergency, and being of service in every possible way.
Tourist Police Agents at the information modules have received English courses, so that they can give clear information and directions to international tourists. |
| |
Tourist Police Agents can be identified by their white and blue uniforms and City Police badges, whereas City Police Agents wear all blue uniforms. |
| |
They are found at the green stands located in Hidalgo Park (corner of 60th Street and 59th Street) and Santa Lucia Park (corner of 60th Street and 55th Street). Agents in the Tourist Police squad usually patrol these parks to assist the audience during the cultural events that regularly take place here. |
| |
The Tourist Police will assist and inform you on how to get to embassies, consulates, restaurants, cultural events, hotels, parking lots, museums, bus stops and attraction. They will also help you in the event you suffer or witness a criminal act, or if you are involved in a traffic incident. ALL THESE SERVICES ARE COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE.
